Carnot label: research for companies
Created in 2006, the Carnot label aims to develop partnership research, i.e. research conducted by public laboratories in partnership with socio-economic actors, mainly companies (from SMEs to large groups), in response to their needs.
39 structures or research networks were awarded the Carnot label in 2020, each pursuing a proactive policy of partnership research and integrating new industrial needs and associated research challenges into their research strategy.
Federated by the Association of Carnot Institutes, the system operates as a network with a national presence and strong territorial roots to be as close as possible to companies. It is managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and the French National Research Agency (ANR) is responsible for its management (management of financial support and monitoring of the system).
